Complex Storm Drain / Drainage Solutions

Excess water around your home or building foundation can lead to serious problems, from landscape erosion to costly structural damage. When your drainage challenge is more than a simple fix, we provide a Drainage Consultation Service where we work with you and your specific challenge to design an economical drainage solution. The cost of the consultation can be credited to the build project if you choose us to do the build.

At Freedom Underground, we deliver in complex drainage solutions that move water away from your property and into properly designed containment or dispersal systems. Whether you are dealing with seasonal flooding, standing water, or runoff that puts your foundation at risk, we build systems that work — and last.

New construction will usually have a drainage plan along with other utilities. If you have a written plan and/or blueprint, please send it to our email so we can provide you a construction cost estimate. Our email is 📩 [email protected]. You can also start the process by calling or texting us at 📞408-693-6018. You can also use our contact form.

Our Services Include:

  • French Drains – Designed to intercept and redirect water before it causes damage.

  • Area Drains – Ideal for collecting pooling water at low points and moving it to dispersal areas.

  • Sump Pumps – Necessary when needing to move water from low areas to higher elevations for dispersion.

  • Storm Drain Connections – Building out new Storm Drain infrastructure and tying your system into existing downspouts attached to your home.

  • Foundation Water Protection – Necessary when water is seeping or holding underground near your home’s foundation. Waterproofing applied to the foundation will prevent moisture buildup that can threaten your home’s structural integrity.

  • Custom Dissipators – Engineered for serious drainage demands. These can be simple to complex, underground holding tanks that tie into other drainage infrastructure and allow for safe water dispersion over time.

This picture shows a French Drain installation in progress. The perforated pipe, drain rock, and filter fabric are in place, awaiting inspection. After our successful inspection, we wrapped the filter fabric around the pipe and drain rock. Given that this is right next to the foundation of a new home addition, we also covered the foundation with a waterproof membrane (not shown). Lastly, we even installed a Storm Drain over this French Drain.

Excavation for Custom Dissiipator
For larger drainage needs or properties without direct access to a public storm drain system, we install custom water dissipators. These systems typically use 24- or 36-inch corrugated pipe, capped at both ends and perforated at the bottom. These custom builds are buried in a bed of drain rock, surrounded by filter fabric and connected to storm drain infrastructure. The benefit of these custom Dissipators is that they can hold excess water drained from other parts of the property and then disperse the water slowly, over time, into the surrounding soil. Typically, custom dissipators are called for and designed by Engineers as part of a complete drainage plan for new construction or remodels. We custom build them to their specifications.

Below are examples of Complex Drainage Solutions we have done.

The first one included an extensive French Drain, and Storm Drain which drained to a Custom Underground Dissipator Assembly. We also installed a Sump Pump Station and a Water Barrier Protection.

The Second One was a long French Drain with Water Barrier Protection added to the foundation.
