Sewer Repair and Cleanout
This is an example of a typical sewer line replacement project. This one was in San Jose from 2020.
When arriving to do our project estimate, we ran the camera into the client’s sewer line to determine the issue, in this case, a section of broken pipe under the homeowner’s driveway. The depth of the pipe was 4ft and a section of concrete had to be cut, removed, and replaced to reach the breakage point. As this was a spot repair rather than a complete replacement of the sewer line, we would only need to dig out a 3×4 foot section.
Our estimate was $3,500 to do the work. Please note that a project’s cost will be determeind by the specifics of the project. In this case, it was a straightforward repair without the need for extensive excavation. Our client accepted the bid as they had a lot of questions regarding the project and were comfortable with our answers. We do encourage our customers to ask any and all questions they have about a project.
After several onsite meetings, the customer decided to add to the project with a new property line cleanout for an additional $1,500. The cleanout was installed with a new concrete Christy box to protect the riser as required by local building codes.
The sewer service provider requires a property line cleanout if one does not exist for any sewer line project that has a permit. By placing a property line cleanout, the sewer provider is able to clean the lateral from the cleanout towards the main sewer line.
The work took 2 days to complete with no complications.
